Sharon Dralle, 82

Sharon Dralle, 82, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, December 5, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 9, at Trinity Reformed Church, Allison. Interment will follow at the Allison Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday at Trinity Reformed Church. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Allison is caring for Sharon and her family.

Sharon Hazel Dralle was born near Parkersburg, Iowa, the second child of Harvey and Mildred (Brouwer) Ulfers. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and attended UNI and Allen School of Nursing.

On November 30, 1961, Sharon was united in marriage with Richard Dralle at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. This union was blessed with three children: Michelle, Michael and Mitchell. 

Sharon worked a few different jobs before joining the staff at the Butler County Clerk of Court. She worked here in excess of 20 years, eventually becoming the Clerk of Court.

Sharon was an active member of Trinity Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday School and Catechism. She was active in the Women’s Guild for many years. 

An avid Hawkeye fan and season ticket holder, she attended many football games over the years. Before her eyes failed her, Sharon liked to read and do crossword puzzles. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies. The family camped together for many years and had many memorable events while camping. She would travel to Washington DC to visit her sister and with Richard took many trips to Branson and Nashville, as well as her grandchildren’s sporting events in Chicago. A special memory is of a trip to Disney World with Mike and his family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years: Richard Dralle; daughter: Michelle Dralle, Iowa City; sons: Michael (Robbin) Dralle, Oakbrook, IL; Mitchell Dralle, Parkersburg; grandchildren: RJ (Kathleen) Dralle, Chicago; Sydney (Kevin) Ledford, Decatur, TN and their daughter Rooney; sisters: Marlys (Gary) Lumley, Urbandale; Diane (Jim) VanZetten, Grand Rapids, MI; brothers Milton (Marilyn) Ulfers, Allison; Harvey (Jane) Ulfers, Waterloo; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents.
