Russell Gene Henning, 83

Russell Gene Henning, age 83, of Allison, Iowa, and formerly of Clarksville, Iowa, died Monday, July 8, 2024, at Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa.

Russ was born on January 14, 1941, in Dumont, Iowa, the son of John and Alice (Sherman) Henning.  He was baptized in 1958, at Shell Rock Baptist Church in Shell Rock, Iowa.  Russ attended Jackson Country School in Butler County, Iowa until the 8th grade.  He spent his life farming in the Clarksville area.

Russ was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Allison, Pork Producers Board, Farm Bureau Board member for twenty years, and Cattlemen’s Beef Association.  He enjoyed C.B. Radios, Trains, Tractors, going to sales, and the Butler County Fair.

Russ’s memory is honored by: sister, Rose (Jerry) DePuew of Clarksville; two brothers, Ronald Henning of Clarksville and Roy (Cindy) Henning of Clarksville; five nieces, Robbi (Don) Johnson, Rhonda (Scott) Gade, Stephanie Henning, Jessica (Ben) Lovien, and Angie Henning; two nephews, Mark (Dawn) DePeuw and Jay (Tina) DePeuw; and many great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11 at Allison Reformed Church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12 at Allison Reformed Church.  The service will be live streamed and can be viewed at trinref.org.  Burial will follow at Lyn-wood Cemetery in Clarksville.  Memorials may be directed to Russ’s family for later designation.  Online condolences may be left atwww.kaisercorson.com. 319-352-1187
