Kelvin “Kelly” William Nordman
Kelvin “Kelly” William Nordman of Clarksville, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the age of 60 from complications of cancer. He died peacefully with his beloved wife Cindy and his children by his side at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
Kelly was born the son of Marvin and Janice (Luck) Nordman on October 28, 1962, in Charles City. He attended Plainfield Junior High School in Plainfield, then Waverly High School in Waverly. Kelly served in the United States Army from October 1981 until he was honorably discharged in September of 1985. During this time, he was stationed in Germany and for a short time in Panama. After being discharged from the service, he lived in Oklahoma before returning to the Waverly area.
Kelly was united in marriage with Julie Adams. The couple shared two children together and later divorced. On September 12, 2009, he was united in marriage with Cindy Marie Fesenmeyer (Smith) at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. Kelly was currently employed as the manager of Allstate Rental in Waterloo and over the years acquired many friends that were longtime customers.
In his spare time, Kelly enjoyed fishing, working on anything with a motor, and visiting the casino. He loved traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. Everyone that knew Kelly had a story they could share about him, and he greatly enjoyed those times of reminiscing.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Cindy of Clarksville; one son, Nick (Niki) Nordman of Waverly; two daughters, Kelsey (Ryan) Boyles of Clarksville and Olivia Melton of Houston, Texas; two step-sons, Evan (Amanda) Fesenmeyer of Janesville, and Kyle (Toshia) Fesenmeyer of Boone; seven grandchildren, Grace, Amity & Lane Maas, Lawson & Ledger Fesenmeyer and Tinsley & Sawyer Fesenmeyer; his mother, Janice (Raymond) Becthold; two brothers, Russ (Jody Boyer) Nordman of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Rod Korth of Cedar Falls, two sisters, DeeAnn (Chad) Hinders of Greene, and Dawn (Brian) Stanborough of Allison; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Nordman.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville, with Pastor Charles Underwood officiating. Organist was Sharon Leerhoff and she accompanied the congregation as they sang “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, “Borning Cry” and “Amazing Grace”. Burial was held at Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville with Nick Nordman, Evan Fesenmeyer, Kyle Fesenmeyer, Chad Hinders, Curt DeWitt and Corey DeWitt serving as Casketbearers. Honorary Casketbearers were Kelsey Boyles, Olivia Melton, Vern Snitker and Bryce Mcavinew.
Visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Redman Funeral & Cremation Services in Clarksville, and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.redmanfuneral.com
