Marlene Miller, 83

Marlene Miller, 83, of Allison, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Private family services with burial in the Allison Cemetery will be held with Counsell Woodley Funeral Home of Allison caring for Marlene and her family. Marlene was born at the family farm near Clarksville August 29, 1939 a daughter of Roy and Thelma (Salge) Fenneman. She attended country school and graduated from the new Clarksville High School.

On August 15, 1959 Marlene was united in marriage with Duane Miller at Pleasant Valley Church, rural Clarksville. They made their home on Duane’s family farm and she lived there for nearly 63 years. Marlene and Duane worked hard on the farm and raised their two children. She was an active member of the Allison Congregational Church where she served nearly 30 years as the treasurer for the Women’s Fellowship and was one of the go to people in the church kitchen for meals for funerals and other church events.

Marlene had a large garden and was an excellent baker, she enjoyed trivia, game shows, birdwatching and reading murder mysteries. She loved traveling and took many bus trips but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Enjoying fond memories of Marlene are her children: Rod (Brenda) Miller, Elk Run Heights; Jodee Miller, Iowa City; grandchildren: Mark (Nikki) Miller; Elizabeth Miller (Justin Atwood); Melissa (Chris) Dullea; great grandchildren: Alaina and Liam Miller; Mason and Karsen Reuter; Ayden, Cayle, Leo, Poppy & Lily Dullea; niece: Janelle Kolb; nephew: Jeff (Cindy) Kolb.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and brother-in-law Lavon & Jake Kolb and sister-in-law Ruth Miller.
