Juchems farm looks forward to a sunny future: ‘Conservation doesn’t cost; it pays’

Sunshine means savings at the Juchems farm in rural Plainfield. This past summer, three 120-foot long rows, comprised of a total of 540 solar panels, were installed at Rick and Jane Juchems’ farm. The solar array produces about 42 kilowatts per hour depending on the position of the sun, and up to about 63 kilowatts per hour on a sunny summer day.
