Ted Shultz

Ted William Shultz, 64, of Birmingham AL formerly of Allison, passed away on May 21st after battling cancer for six months.

Ted grew up in Allison, graduated from Allison-Bristow High School, was baptized and confirmed in St. James Lutheran Church, and attended Iowa State University.  He was a patriot, loved watching and attending Alabama football games, camping with his wife and dogs at Tannyhill Park and fishing for crappie.  Most would describe him with words like “excellence, integrity, servant, big personality a jokester”.  To know him was to love him.

Although he had no children of his own, he was a wonderful stepfather to three step children and numerous step grandchilden. Ted is survived by his mother, Marilyn (Peg) Shultz of Allison; his wife of 30 years, Rita, of Birmingham AL; his step children and step grandchildren; his sister, Karen (Duane) Strempke; his brothers Tom (Susie) Shultz and David (Sweetie) Shultz; his niece Emily (Tyler) Kamish and their children Connor and Quinn; his

nephew Mark (Shelah) and their daughter Kinley; and his nephew Bill Shultz. He is also survived by cousins, Doris Rindels, Ann (Ross) Grafft, Denise (Doug) Sivertsen and Jay (Michele) Shultz.  Ted was preceded in death by his father Roger (Pete) Shultz; his paternal grandparents, Phillip and Leota Shultz; and maternal grandparents, Hubert and Sena Ressler, aunts and uncles and a cousin. Visitation and Funeral Service for Ted were held May 24, 2022, in Alabama.
