Stan D. Harms, 64

Stan D. Harms, 64, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Honoring Stan’s wishes, his body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A private family burial will be held at the Allison Cemetery. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Allison is caring for Stan and his family.

Stan was born May 4, 1960, in Charles City, a son of Delbert and Marjorie (Arjes) Harms. He graduated from Allison-Bristow High School and Central College. 

After college Stan ventured to Colorado. He pursued a career in Carpentry. He was a master craftsman – known for his attention to detail – leaving his mark on many beautiful homes in the Denver area.

Stan was a self-taught guitarist and a member of blues bands in the Denver area. He returned to Allison in 2001 and continued working as a carpenter. He was a generous and kind man.

Stan is survived by his children: Lucas Harms, Colorado; Hunter and Dylan Coleman-Harms, Tennessee; his father: Delbert Harms, Clarksville; siblings: Susan (Mark) Schrage, Bristow; Steve (Brenda) Harms, Aplington; Jeff (Julie) Harms, Allison; and many nieces and nephews.

Stan is preceded in death by his partner, Mari Conklin; mother, Marjorie and his grandparents.

Memorials may be directed to his family or the Cedar Valley Hospice.
