Maya Jean McCaw

Maya Jean McCaw, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of Brian McCaw and Samantha Sims on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, of natural causes.

Maya is preceded in death by her older brother, Carzon McCaw; two great grandmothers, Rebecca Smith and Patricia Steffen; great grandfather, Dick Mortenson; and uncle, Steve Bell.

Maya is survived by her parents, Brian McCaw and Samantha Sims of Clarksville; her siblings, Izabella, Zander, and Orlaith McCaw; grandparents, Lisa Sims of Clarksville & Russell Sims of Sumner, Iowa and Christy & Jeff Mortenson of Mesa, Arizona; three uncles, Jacob Sims and Scott Barnhouse of Mesa, Arizona, and Austin Sims; aunt, Sandra Bell of Waverly, Iowa; two great grandfathers, Bryan Smith of Clarksville and Cliff Steffen of Fordyce, Nebraska; great grandmother, Cathy McCaw of Tempe, Arizona; great uncle, James McCaw of Boise, Idaho; and great aunt, Cole Buck of Boise, Idaho.

A Visitation to Celebrate the Life of Maya Jean McCaw was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Redman Funeral & Cremation Services – Clarksville Funeral Home.
