Edwin DeVries, 94

Edwin DeVries, 94, of Greene, passed away, Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25 at Dumont Reformed Church with Rev. Chris Meester presiding. Interment will be at the Dumont Cemetery. 

Visitation was at the church two hours prior to the service. 

Edwin was born July 27, 1928, to Kathryn (Klausen) and Jacob T. DeVries in the Kesley area. He was an avid farmer. He also worked at White Farm Equipment in Charles City for 28 years.

 Edwin was united in marriage with Evelyn Johansen on October 12, 1950. To this union four daughters were born. Evelyn passed away August 1974. He married Rose Dirks in March 1976.

Edwin is survived by his wife Rose; 4 daughters: DeeAnn Freerks, Barbara (Edward) Brinkman; Joyce Henning; Esther Perkins; stepson: Wayne (Connie) Dirks; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Sheila Dirks; brother: Calvin (Judy) DeVries; sister-in-law: Elvera Dodd; brotbers-in-law: Gary Johansen; Marvin Johansen; and many friends other relatives.

Preceding him in death are his parents; first wife Evelyn; brothers: John and Hank; sisters: Margaret Miller and Ruth Buseman; sister-in-law: Nona DeVries; step-daughter: Donna Martin; step-son: Dallas Dirks; sons-in-law: Robert Freerks, Daniel Perkins, Steven Oudekerk and Norman Martin.
