Brian Hoodjer, 61

Brian Hoodjer, 61, of Clarksville, died Sunday, February 25, 2024, at MercyOne-North Iowa in Mason City following a bout with cancer under the care of Hospice of North Iowa. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Allison is caring for Brian and his family. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held 1- 3 PM, Saturday, March 9 at Doc’s Tap in Clarksville. Brian will be laid to rest at Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville.

Brian Garret Hoodjer was born June 26, 1962 to Carl L. “Cub” and Gladys (Hinders) Hoodjer. He was bapized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1981. 

Brian was a heavy equipment operator and built many highways, interstates and roadside ponds in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri and was known for the outstanding quality of his work. His last employer was C.J. Moyna of Elkader, Iowa.

Brian enjoyed taking drives in the country and in his younger years, motorcycle riding, ice fishing and hunting.

Brian is survived by his siblings Carl R. “Bob” (Cindy) Hoodjer, Rita Price, Bruce (Cindi) Hoodjer, Gloria Hoodjer, Peggy Hoodjer (Curt Neuendorf), Sheila Hoodjer; sister-in-law Roxann Hoodjer; brother-in-law Tim Wedeking; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan Wedeking and brother Milton Hoodjer.
