Virginia “Ginny” Huisman, 76

      Virginia “Ginny” Huisman, 76, of Clarksville, Iowa died on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville.

     Virginia was born on July 4, 1948, the daughter of William and Roberta (Klein) Pratt in Waterloo, Iowa. She graduated from Des Moines Roosevelt High School in 1967. On December 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Donald Huisman in Jesup. Ginny worked as a CNA at the Clarksville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville for 35 years. She also volunteered as an EMT on the Clarksville EMS from 1978 until 1985.

     She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, drawing and collecting nesting dolls.

     Survivors are her husband, Donald of Clarksville; three daughters, Jennifer (Kevin) Becker of Clarksville, Kristin (Nick) Kollmann of Loveland, Colorado and Danielle (Travis) Neve of Allison; three grandchildren, Kolton Becker, Rayne Becker and Liam Neve; brothers and sister, Billy (Sherry) Pratt of Nashville, Tennessee, Bob (Mindy) Pratt of Coralville, Mike Pratt of LaPorte City, Kathy Brinyark of Waterloo, John Pratt of Phoenix, Arizona, Jim (April) Pratt of Cedar Falls, Joe Pratt of Overland Park, Kansas and Tom Pratt of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

    Ginny has been cremated and there will be a memorial service on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Clarksville Church of Christ with Pastor Val Swinton presiding. The family will greet family and friends an hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
