Aplington sale barn rebuilds after fire

APLINGTON – Central Iowa Exchange owner Letrisha Wise knows healing takes time.
 
Just three months ago, a fire destroyed the Aplington sale barn, leaving Wise and the community without words. But with the rubble removed, the ground leveled and a frame of a new building rising, Wise has a newfound sense of hope and excitement.
 
“Now that we’re seeing progression, I’m feeling excited and hopeful and am really excited to see what the clientele and customers think of the new building,” she said.
 
Last week, construction crews worked to install a new sewer system and cement. After those projects are finished, a new roof and steel will be added.
