Workshop to address putting a small business ‘on the map’

A business traveler crossing the state on Highway 20 used his smartphone to find coffee.
“Coffee shop near me,” he might have said into his phone. It routed him to a coffee shop in downtown Grundy Center.
That business received his patronage because it had an accurate listing on Google, Butler County Development Director Jeff Kolb said.
“It used to be, people grab the yellow pages if they wanted to find a company,” Kolb said. “You (many people) don’t do that anymore, you grab your smartphone.
The information on Google is only as good as what you (the businesses) provide.”
