FORT DODGE – It had to be the shoes.
Running to a career-best time of 19 minutes, 47.3 seconds, Clarksville sophomore Kori Wedeking repeated her feat of finishing top-15 to earn a medal in the Class 1A state cross country meet.'
“I wore different shoes this time,” Wedeking said, “and my coach (Ralph Longus) said my feet would feel a lot lighter and there were (also) just a lot of people around me who pushed me.”
The shoes weren’t new to Wedeking, just new to the cross country field.
