At the Allison council meeting on Monday evening, an extra coat of paint for the water tower was approved, and it was decided to get quotes to replace the roof of the main shelter house at Wilder Park.
Engineer Don Moore said the contractors painting the water tower suggested going from two coats of paint to three at a cost of $17,000. The council approved. The additional coat of paint would add six to eight years to the paint job’s life expectancy.
The council approved the park board to get quotes to reroof Shelter No. 1 (the main shelter). Park Board member Randy Moad said the board hopes to have a metal roof installed.
“I’ve always said maintenance is something we have to keep up with,” said Councilman Ron Davis, who made the motion in favor.
