Veteran’s Day to be observed with programs

A wreath was recently placed at the All Veterans Memorial in commemoration of Veteran’s day and to mark the anniversary of the memorial’s dedication.
     The North Butler Elementary will host a program to honor Veterans on Thursday, Nov. 8 in the auditorium in Allison.  Veterans are invited to a breakfast starting at 8:15 and then to the assembly at 9:00 a.m.  Veterans will also be asked to share stories and answer questions with the fifth and sixth grade students after the assembly if they are able to stay for a little while. 
     Members of the public are welcome to come to the assembly at 9:00 a.m. as well, but there is limited space available.  Any veterans who would like to join the breakfast and assembly, please call the school at 319-267-2212 to RSVP.   If you have any questions, please contact Beth Trulson at North Butler at North Butler Elementary or email beth.trulson@northbutler.org
     North Butler Junior/Senior High invites all local veterans, their families and community members to their annual Veterans Day Program, on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the new gym in Greene. The junior high student council will serve a light breakfast prior to the program, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. The program will feature the junior and senior high bands, the high school choir, local Boy scouts and several student speakers. Following the program, veterans and their families are invited to stay for an appreciation meal provided by the Foods I classes.
