Valerie Lynn Brunner

Valerie Lynn Brunner, age 39, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of Donald Allen and Galena Lou (Ferrell) Radloff on November 14,1981, at Waverly Memorial Hospital in Waverly, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville. Valerie graduated from Clarksville High School in 2000.

     Valerie married Scott Raley. To this union, Mason and Dylon were born. The couple were later divorced. On July 9, 2011, Valerie was united in marriage with Jared Michael Brunner at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Plainfield, Iowa.  To this union, Emmylou was born. Valerie lived in Clarksville her entire life. Through the years, Valerie worked at McDonalds, Burger King, Wal-Mart, Landus Cooperative, Laird & Luhring Law Firm and currently at Network Control as a billing analyst.

     Valerie was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville and served as a Sunday School teacher and helped with the kid’s programs, including Christmas and Easter programs. Valerie enjoyed being outdoors and loved to camp, kayak, fish and hunt. She also liked to bake. Valerie’s greatest joy was attending her kids’ sporting events, especially football.

     On Monday, February 15, 2021, Valerie passed away at Waverly Health Center in Waverly. Valerie is preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; and her father-in-law, Steven Brunner, and two nephews, Rudy Eggers and Benjamin Klinghammer.

     Valerie is survived by her husband, Jared of Clarksville; two sons, Mason and Dylon Raley, both at home; one daughter, Emmylou Brunner, at home; her parents, Don & Gale Radloff of Clarksville; two brothers, Bruce (Angie) Radloff of Shell Rock, Iowa and Christopher (Anna) Klinghammer of Waverly; two sisters, Lena Eggers and Candice Cornwell, both of Waterloo, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Marlene (Jerry) Nott of Nashua, Iowa and her best friend, Gena Wayne (Derek Buss) of Allison, Iowa.

     A family funeral service was held Monday, February 22, 2021, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville, with Pastor Jim Brown officiating. Organist was Sharon Leerhoff. Kayleen Luloff sang “Strawberry Wine”, “Lord’s Prayer” and “See You Again”. Special music, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Dancing In The Sky” was played. Casketbearers were Bruce Radloff, Christopher Klinghammer, Dean Popes, Derek Buss, Gunner Wayne, Hunter Wayne, Grady Wayne and Jordan Eggers. Miranda Eggers, Amanda Tuitjer, Stephanie Harre and Stacy Carolus served as Honorary Casketbearers. Burial will be at Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville.

     Visitation was held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, at Redman Funeral and Cremation Services in Clarksville. A public fellowship time was held after the service at Doc’s Tap in Clarksville.
