Tips for staying in shape this winter: A visit to North Butler PE teacher Corrine Thompson’s class

With the frigid weather this winter, it can be hard to stay in shape. North Butler Elementary physical education teacher Corrine Thompson recently shared the following tips to beat the winter blues.
     Watch for aerobics exercise programs on television, or use workout DVDs or routines online.
     You can walk laps in your house, use a treadmill or exercise bike, and use dumbbells for upper body strengthening.
     Do “commercials exercise” while watching your favorite show on TV: march in place, do wall pushups, or do squats, lunges and planks. Every time there’s a commercial break, workout. When the show comes back on, you can sit back down and watch.
