Students build greenhouse: Mr. Kuchera’s environmental science class at work

Science teacher Dan Kuchera wanted students to work on a project they could look back at years later and know “I built that.”
     Kuchera’s environmental science class of juniors and seniors constructed a greenhouse.
     The first step in the project was to take samples of the soil and measure how much light there was and where the shade lines were. A spot for the greenhouse was selected near the outdoor basketball court.
     The foundation for the greenhouse was laid a month ago. The students assembled the greenhouse from a kit. It took a week to put the frame up, as the class faced bad weather.
