Science teacher Dan Kuchera wanted students to work on a project they could look back at years later and know “I built that.”
Kuchera’s environmental science class of juniors and seniors constructed a greenhouse.
The first step in the project was to take samples of the soil and measure how much light there was and where the shade lines were. A spot for the greenhouse was selected near the outdoor basketball court.
The foundation for the greenhouse was laid a month ago. The students assembled the greenhouse from a kit. It took a week to put the frame up, as the class faced bad weather.
