Sommerfelt wins long jump to highlight Wartburg Indoor meet

CLARKSVILLE – Zach Sommerfelt cleared 20 feet even in the long jump to win the Wartburg Indoor title on Tuesday, March 17 at Waverly.
It was Sommerfelt’s best effort so far in the early indoor season.
There were, however, some doubts that he achieved the feat without scratching, but the jump counted.
“I wasn’t there watching it live,” Clarksville coach Brandon Zelle said. “I was over at the girls’ pit watching them jump, but I heard from a few people (that he scratched) and from a few people that he didn’t...."
