Siemens, Dolan to Corn Bowl first team

GREENE – North Butler seniors Kenzie Siemens and Emily Dolan were one of only two teams to land two on the Corn Bowl Conference first team announced recently.

The Bearcats finished third among Corn Bowl Conference teams with a 5-2 record behind Nashua-Plainfield and West Fork.

Siemens, an outside hitter, led the Bearcats with 365 kills, second in the conference only to unanimous selection Lindsey Peterson of West Fork.

Dolan recorded 266 kills and 255 digs after recovering a major knee injury during the 2012-13 basketball season.

Senior setter Marisa Speedy was given a second-team nod, finishing second in the Corn Bowl in total set assists with 654, which was good for 7.03 assists per set.

Speedy also led the team in serve efficiency at .960.

Channing Wunsch, a senior who had 44 blocks and 163 digs, was an honorable mention selection.
