“I’ve been everywhere, man.
Crossed the deserts bare,
breathed the mountain air.
Travel, I’ve had my share,
man, I’ve been everywhere.”
I’ve Been Everywhere, sung by Jim Gates, was one of many songs in the Spring Swing 2017 performed by members of the Shell Rock Music Association at the Boyd Building. On the opening night April 20, the show took a crowd of 250 for a musical adventure across the United States.
The evening started with “Free Ride,” performed by the band and chorus. From there, the performance visited Kansas City, St. Louis, California, the mountains, Route 66 and Manhattan.
The band and chorus performed, and members of the group sang specials, danced, performed stand-up comedy and acted in a variety of costumes.
