Shell Rock was a busy place on Independence Day as the streets were lined with lawn chairs, in some places three or four rows deep. There’s no place quite like Shell Rock on the 4th of July, and to say the annual parade was well-attended would be an understatement.
Grand Marshals this year were Jeff and Donna Busch, longtime residents and owners of the Riverview Café and the Shell Rock Scoop. Also featured in the parade were Miss Shell Rock Katy Kellum, Little Miss Shell Rock Kassidi Klobassa and Little Mr. Shell Rock Stone Helmichs.
The parade was escorted by the Sheriff’s Department and led by Old Glory, held high by the Shell Rock Boy Scouts, accompanied by an honor guard in full dress uniform.
