On Saturday, Aug. 22, golfers and do-gooders will flock to the 5th Annual Kris Walters Memorial Golf Tournament to help fund a service dog for a Clarksville toddler with autism, 2 1/2-year-old Brior McCully.
The golf tournament is sold out, but lunch from 11-11:30 a.m., a silent auction and raffle, also at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike, are open to the public, said Brior's mother, Rhiannon McCully. A $10 donation to the cause is asked for lunch, which is sponsored by Doc's Restaurant • Lounge in Clarksville, as well as Cedar Falls restaurants.
Brior was diagnosed with autism in June 2014. He is on a waiting list for an autism waiver, which will streamline future access to services.
