Second half switch for Bulldogs against North Butler

GREENE – Hampton-Dumont’s girls’ basketball team wasn’t shooting well in the first half of this non-conference game and conversely North Butler was.
That completely turned around in the second half on Saturday, Dec. 8 as the Bulldogs turned a 26-22 deficit into a 59-38 win over the Bearcats to improve to 3-1 overall.
H-D had just survived a close conference game on the road the night before and that is what Bulldog coach Miranda Valley attributed the slow start to.
“I didn’t think we had the legs to do what we normally try to do,” Valley said. “And so, we had to be smart and go with ‘Plan B’ and worked really hard in the half-court defense and that was the difference in the second half..."
