Savvy seniors: Meet LaRue Krull

LaRue Krull, 92, resides at Shell Rock Health Care Center.
     She grew up in Illinois, attended country school, and enjoyed playing on the baseball team.
     “I think I was the only girl. I loved batting. When I was home, us kids would have a ball, and when it was my turn, I’d get up, and I’d swing,” Krull said. “They never found the ball.”
     The family moved around a lot because her dad was unemployed and couldn’t find a job. He did farm work when he could, and later in life worked at a factory.
