Reflections on life in Clarksville: Doc and Dawn Bruhn share their story

Life isn’t always easy, but long time Clarksville residents Dr. Gene and Dawn Bruhn believe in making the most of every day.
     The couple moved to Clarksville in 1975, when “Doc” Bruhn started his practice as a chiropractor in the building that stood beside People’s Clinic. He offered chiropractic services in Clarksville for the next 30+ years until his retirement in 2006.
     “It was a very good 30 years…” Dr. Bruhn said. “Treating patients was rewarding—to visit with them and see them get better.”
     Dawn started out as his receptionist, but loved working with children, and opened her own private preschool for six years before starting a 22-year career at Head Start, retiring in 2011.
