Young pianist James Aissen of Clarksville released his first CD, aptly titled “The First,” on January 9. His mission is simple: to spread the joy of music to others.
     The CD features 12 of his original compositions, ranging from slow, peaceful tunes such as Midnight Lullaby and Winter Dreams—inspired by the crackling of a warm fireplace on a cold winter night—to energetic pieces such as Redemption and Spanish Fly.
     Aissen, at only 13 years old, has composed nearly 30 original pieces, and arranged many more. Music seems to just come to him—even when he’s out mowing a neighbor’s yard or shoveling snow.
     “I just come up with stuff,” Aissen said.
