Photojournalist, author to speak at Clarksville Public Library on May 7

It is sometimes attributed to Proust that the true voyage of discovery would not be to visit strange lands but to possess other eyes.
A man who spent each day of a year shooting a lone bur oak in 365 different lights, angles and moods, will travel to Clarksville next Saturday to speak.
Mark Hirsch spent 20 years in the newspaper industry as a photojournalist, photo and visual editor before going freelance in 2006.
In 2012, Hirsch was recovering from a serious accident when a friend inspired him to use his iPhone to document a year in the life of a bur oak in a cornfield.
