There’s nothing quite like the gentle power and delicate pizazz of ten talented fingers on 88 keys. Clarksville residents are in for a treat with local piano talent on display at Music in the Park on Sunday, July 29 at 7 p.m. at Reading Park in Clarksville. Pianist James Aissen, a 12-year-old from Clarksville, will perform an hour of classical and modern music, original compositions and favorite hymns.
“I felt this will be a good way to showcase the great local talent we have in Clarksville,” said event organizer Jeff Kolb. “We have a very diverse range of music styles that our local talent performs. James was eager to perform, and he has played at several venues in our area.”
Aissen has performed at the nursing home and for 4-H at the county fair, among other venues. He started beatboxing at the age of three and started playing the drums by the age of five. In October 2016, he had his first piano lesson, and less than a year later was already composing his own sheet music. He has been a student of Jean Hilbert of Waverly for the past year and a half.
“Every time he plays, he blows us away. He is always coming up with new stuff,” dad Mike Aissen said.
