In 2016, the Allison Park Board generated $13,000 in profit, Dr. George North told Allison City Council on Monday, Nov. 14, in delivering the board’s annual report.
“As far as the Park Board is concerned — it’s been an incredible year,” North said.
This amount returns to the city’s general fund, by accepted accounting practices, North said in an interview.
Volunteer labor donated to Wilder Park in fiscal 2016 totaled 1,635 hours, the report stated. Projects sorted from most volunteer hours to least were: the cabin (lodge) which received 500 hours of work; woodland management, 350 hours; the pickle ball court, 300 hours; tree planting and mulching, 225 hours; concrete pad and deck for host site, painting (original toilets and two picnic) shelters (to match), cleaning jetties (around the ponds by the Bristow church camp) and pond management, at 50 hours each; repairing tables, and kiddie basketball at 15 hours each; and building the horseshoe area to new regulations, the free Littlefield Library (book box), and a toy shed, at 10 hours each (for storing frisbees, soccer balls, etc.).
