At Butler Center Baked Goods in rural Allison, there’s a wide spectrum of pies available, from seasonal favorites like pumpkin and pecan to raisin sour cream, peanut butter cream, chocolate silk, Dutch apple, caramel apple and an assortment of fruit pies, as well as cookies and cupcakes—a palette of baked treats designed to delight the most discriminating palate.
“Pretty much if you name it, I will try to make it,” baker Amanda Mitchell said.
Personal favorites are raspberry and strawberry rhubarb, and her husband loves her blueberry pies, which have a snap and pop to them, like blueberries should have.
Her pies are sold by the slice at Sherrie’s Café in Allison, offered at Townsend Winery in Hansell, and can be ordered directly through the Butler Center Baked Goods Facebook page or by calling 319-427-3091.
