GREENE – In its best-played game of the season, North Butler’s girls’ basketball team held a lead on previously-ranked Rockford for nine solid minutes in an eventual 51-34 loss to the Warriors on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Senior guard Jenny Rottler started out the game hot, hitting all three of her three-pointers in the first quarter as the Bearcats built a 10-1 lead against Rockford, which dropped out of the rankings last week.

“She did (knock down big shots early),” North Butler coach KevinClipperton said. “It’s good to see to get some shots and it really helps us. They came out in a zone and we got some ball movement, had some wide open looks and knocked them down, but we’ve got to have some other kids step up and knock down shots as well.”
