North Butler’s Mady Klingenborg, Chase Eiklenborg reach state field

NORTHWOOD – Nothing was guaranteed for North Butler after the Class 1A state-qualifying meet was over on Friday, May 10.
Only the champion in each event was an automatic qualifier and the Bearcats fell short of the top spot in all events.
However, after the state qualifiers were announced the following afternoon, the Bearcats had a pair of state competitors: Mady Klingenborg was set to make a return trip to state in the 800, adding the 400 hurdles this time.
The only boys’ team member was Chase Eiklenborg, going for 133 feet, 2 inches in the discus.
“I know that Chase had his best throw of the season early in the year and hasn’t been able to match that toward the end of the season,” North Butler boys’ coach Kirk Clark said...
