New provider for Allison clinic

A tentative agreement was reached with Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – Covenant Clinics to operate the Allison Medical Clinic during a special meeting of the city council on Thursday, March 15.
     Jeffrey Halverson, Vice President of the Physician Network, attended the meeting and answered questions from the council and concerned citizens. 
     Halverson advised the clinic would operate full-time hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and would be fully staffed by either an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.  The Allison clinic will also provide laboratory and radiology services on-site.  Halverson said an in-house pharmacy service might also be added.
     A timeline for reopening the medical clinic after Unity Point closes is dependent on recruitment of staff.
