Nancy Jensen has stepped down as the Butler youth coordinator,
however, she’ll continue as the county’s program coordinator.
Holly Merritt, 23, fresh off graduating from Dordt College last
spring in animal science, will fill in the absent spot. She started
Jan. 5, and is still taking in all of her duties with 4-H and youth development.

“I’m excited to come on board and learn what the 4-H
program is like here,” Merritt said. “I want to help it continue to
grow and thrive.” Merritt grew up in northwest Iowa participating
in 4-H. “4-H is all about leadership and learning and skills that are
going to be helpful, as well as fair,” she says. (Pat Racette Photo)
