Moads honored as 2014 grand marshals

With the City of Allison sign in their front yard, it’s no wonder Joan and Randy Moad were named this year’s grand marshals of the Wilder Daze parade.

The area’s 33-year pharmacists retired in December, after building up a sphere of pharmacies in Allison, Dumont, Dows, Clarksville, Greene and Nashua. Having to close the majority of the stores, they managed to keep the Allison location open.

Since moving to town in ’93, the Moads have been on a nonstop schedule of work and community involvement. They’ve hosted eight exchange students, helped get a mural commissioned in town and took over an eyesore and turned it into a motel again – Emerald Door Inn.
