Meet city attorney Heather Prendergast

One person whose name you’ll see in city council minutes with frequency is city attorney Heather Prendergast. Prendergast’s firm, Roberts, Stevens and Prendergast, has been serving the city of Clarksville since January 2014.
     Heather Prendergast has been practicing law since 1995, and has done city attorney work since 2005. Her firm has represented cities for about 20 years now, and currently represents 11 cities.
     “We have a lot of experience here in dealing with lots of different issues because we represent a number of smaller communities presently. We are on the forefront of issues that present themselves,” Prendergast said.
     While a problem may be new to a given city, chances are other cities—and the firm—may have dealt with the issue in the past.
