Longtime Bristow residents Norma and Lyle Scroggin will serve as Grand Marshals of the Bristow Fun Day parade on Saturday.

The Scroggins have lived on a Bristow acreage for the past 43 years. Their story is one of hard work.

Both came from poor families and worked tirelessly to build a better life for themselves and their family.

Norma grew up on a farm near Rockwell City. Her father died when she was four years old, leaving her mother to care for their three daughters. They stayed on the farm until Norma, the youngest, made it through parochial school. There was always something to do to help out on the farm, but since she was the youngest, she never got to drive the tractor.
