Scot Henrichs has served as mayor of Allison since 1997, but this election he won’t be on the ballot.
Henrichs’ decision not to seek re-election is in part due to the fact that he now works in Waverly as a Service Manager at Krueger Auto and Truck Villa. Born and raised in Allison, Henrichs previously worked at Cooper Motors in Allison and still serves on the Allison ambulance crew and fire department. But working outside of town, he finds he’s not as involved as before.
Henrichs served on the council under Mayor Jack Cooper in 1992 when Wilder Park began. Since Henrichs was first elected as mayor, a new EMS building and library have been built and industrial park has been started. The city shed was also purchased.
“While I was on, it was totally a team effort, and I feel we accomplished a lot,” Henrichs said.
