Lawmakers discuss gas tax

SHELL ROCK — Transportation funding bills in both the House and Senate are drafted and starting to move through the legislative process.
Sen. Bill Dix said as the chamber’s Republican leader, he would try to find ways to add about $200 million to the state road fund.
Dix and Rep. Pat Grassley discussed the gas tax at a town hall meeting at the Benny Gambaiani Library in Shell Rock on Saturday, Feb. 14.
