Lasting Love - Roy and Joyce Smith

Roy and Joyce Smith have been married for 58 years.
     They knew each other in school at Clarksville, but met after Roy was drafted into the U.S. Army. They married in Washington state, and while Roy was stationed there in the motor squad, Joyce, as a new bride, worked at a nearby café for about year.
     Roy was transferred, and Joyce had to move back home to live with her parents until Roy could return from the service.
     Together they purchased their own home in Clarksville. Roy worked for the Butler County Road Department for 31 years, and Joyce worked in food service at the school for 29 years. She still works at the school on occasion as a substitute teacher’s associate for special ed.
