Richard and Rose Seehusen will celebrate 68 years of marriage on February 26.
The couple met at the roller-skating rink in Clarksville—which used to be the gathering place for young people in the area.
Rose’s father used to play his accordion at dances, and occasionally the couple would attend.
After about two years, at the age of 18, they were the second couple to be married at the current St. James Lutheran church building. Originally, they were scheduled to be first, but another couple was married that afternoon. The Seehusens were married in the evening.
