Lasting Love - Fred and Donna Kelm

Fred and Donna Kelm will celebrate 58 years of marriage in June.
     The couple met up town one Saturday night when Donna was a freshman in high school. They enjoyed dates at the drive-in theater in Waverly and went to speedway races on Sunday nights in Waterloo. Donna graduated in May 1960; Fred was five years older.
     On June 5, 1960, they were married at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville, which they still attend.
     “It was in the afternoon—a formal wedding. We did not have any photographer. It was simple,” said Donna Kelm.
