Over 150 riders gathered for the Juvenile Diabetes Trail Ride in Clarksville last weekend. Riders hailed from throughout Butler County and from Cedar Rapids, Newhall, Toledo, and Ionia to Nashua, Garner, New Hampton, Rockford and Ackley.
Organizer Pam Lore’s brother may have travelled the furthest, coming from Arizona.
The ride started Saturday morning, and although the weather was on the wet side, it went well. The grand finale for the night was a pork loin supper with a dance, raffle and live auction at Doc’s. In the 50-25-25 raffle, each of the 25s won $254. One winner was from New Hampton and the other from Sumner. The Cross Tie Walker band provided live music.
“There were probably 130 for the supper,” Lore said. “The dance was packed, and the band was awesome.”
