Johnson celebrates 100 years

There’s one thing Leona Johnson isn’t afraid to tell you: she’s old fashioned, and at 100 years old, she’s proud of it.
     Johnson grew up on a farm near Shell Rock with no electricity and no running water. Her family had an outhouse, and when the wanted to take baths, they would heat up their bath water on the stove.
     She has seen a lot of changes, but always faced them with a smile.
     “I’ve enjoyed life. I like to have fun, and I like to see people laugh,” Johnson said.
