Indians post top-eight spots at Wartburg

WAVERLY – Clarksville’s Kori Wedeking picked up where she left off in the distance events from last track season, taking a pair of top-five finishes in the 1,500 and 3,000.
In the latter event, Wedeking led all but the bell lap to finish runner-up to Central City’s Emily Staal by a little more than a second at 11:20.10.
Wedeking later edged Staal’s sister, Janelle, in the 1,500 for fifth in 5:16.28. State cross country champion in Class 3A, Adrianna Katcher of Center Point-Urbana, won the 1,500.
Both Clarksville’s Emma Poppe and Janet Borchardt cleared 4 feet, 8 inches in the high jump...
