DES MOINES – Clarksville’s Kori Wedeking earned two state medals in her first state track experience, helping the Indians finish in a tie for 22nd in Class 1A last week.
The freshman started out the weekend with a runner-up finish in the 3,000 after leading the race for about 800 meters before being passed by eventual state champ and three-time winner during the meet, Janette Schraft of East Mills...
...Also running was the 4x100 relay foursome of Morgan Thompson, Emma Poppe, Capri Rabatach and Darian Jacobs.
The quartet ran to a time of 53.18, their second-best time of the season behind the qualifier for Drake.
Like the Drake Relays, it was another rainy day for the prelim.
“It was difficult because of the weather,” Poppe said. “Today was a nicer day compared to Drake.”
The story may be found in its entirety in the May 25th issue of the Clarksville Star.
