Holiday spirit: Jones wins the day for West Fork

SHEFFIELD – Not only did Lexi Jones win the ‘Christmas spirit’ contest offered at West Fork High School on Friday, Dec. 22, she won the day for the Warhawks.
The senior, who had only four points at half, took control of this Top of Iowa East Conference tilt to finish with 18 points and led the Warhawks to a 45-39 win over North Butler at home.
It salvaged a night in which coach Rodney Huber’s team started hot in taking a 10-0 lead and then going cold in the second quarter, allowing the Bearcats to make it a close 21-19 halftime score.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever experienced that where we came out and hit maybe our first four or five shots,” Huber said...
