Resurfacing of 9.59 miles of Iowa Highway 3 between Hwy. 188 outside of Clarksville and 20th Street Northwest in Waverly is set to begin Monday, weather permitting.
According to Pete Hjelmstad, Field Services Coordinator for the Iowa DOT District 2, the work on the project will require lane closures. Traffic will be directed through the work zone with flaggers, pilot cars or temporary traffic signals. The entire length of the project will not be under construction at the same time.
“The project will take the entire construction season to complete,” Hjelmstad said.
Completion is expected sometime in November.
This stretch of Highway 3 was last resurfaced in 1999.
